How to Choose an Airsoft Inner Barrel

An airsoft inner barrel should be selected for its fit and manufacturing quality, not from bore diameter alone. Length, hop-up window geometry, outside dimensions, straightness, internal finish and the condition of the bucking all affect the assembled result.

Check fit before chasing a tighter bore

• Match the barrel format and hop-up window to the chamber and bucking.
• Confirm the barrel length does not interfere with the muzzle device.
• Inspect the crown, bore and window for damage or burrs.
• Check that clips and alignment features hold the barrel without twisting the bucking.

Material and coating are not the whole answer

Brass, stainless steel and coated barrels can all be made well or poorly. A material label does not prove straightness, surface finish, coating adhesion or accuracy. Clean the barrel with a non-damaging rod and material-compatible method; keep oil away from the bore and bucking contact surface.

Test the complete setup

Set the hop-up, use consistent BBs and compare grouping under the same conditions. If accuracy is poor, inspect the bucking, nub, chamber alignment, nozzle position and barrel cleanliness before assuming bore size is the cause.
