STOP BEFORE DAMAGE INCREASES
Disconnect the battery for inspection. Stop immediately for grinding, screeching, lockup, smoke, damaged wiring, a hot motor or battery, cracked parts, or metal debris. Repeated cycling can turn a small alignment issue into damaged gears, piston teeth, motor, or electronics.

SYMPTOM TO CHECK
These are diagnostic starting points. They do not replace inspection of the exact replica and components.
No sound or movement when the trigger is pulled.
Battery charge and polarity, fuse, connectors, wiring, trigger contacts or ETU status, motor connections.
Stop if wiring is hot, damaged, pinched, or shorted. Follow the electronics manufacturer's diagnostic instructions.
Motor attempts to move but the gearbox does not complete a cycle.
Battery condition, motor, pinion mesh, anti-reversal latch, piston position, gear damage, foreign material, overspin or pre-cocking state.
Do not hold the trigger or repeatedly reconnect power against a mechanical lock.
High-pitched or harsh mechanical noise during cycling.
Motor height, pinion-to-bevel contact, missing or incorrect shims, damaged teeth, loose bearings or bushings, shell alignment.
Disconnect power and inspect before another cycle; abnormal mesh can damage both pinion and bevel gears quickly.
Motor, battery, wiring, or gearbox warms quickly or cycling becomes slow.
Battery health, connectors, motor load, spring, gear ratio, shimming, excessive grease, tight bushings, compression resistance.
Rapid temperature rise indicates excess electrical or mechanical load. Stop and locate the source.
Dry fire, intermittent feeding, or BB timing problems.
Magazine and hop unit first, then nozzle length, tappet plate, tappet spring, sector delay, DSG timing, nozzle movement, cycle speed.
Separate magazine and hop-up issues from gearbox timing before replacing drivetrain parts.
Large shot-to-shot variation or unexpected power loss.
Hop rubber and chamber, nozzle seal, tappet return, piston and cylinder seals, cylinder head, spring condition and seating, piston release, and mechanical timing.
A gear ratio alone does not correct an air-seal or compression problem.
WORK FROM SIMPLE TO INTERNAL
Start with checks that do not require opening the gearbox, then move inward only when the evidence supports it.
Use a known-good, correctly charged battery of the correct chemistry and voltage for the replica and ETU. Inspect polarity, fuse, connectors, wiring, and motor terminals.
Check motor seating, height, pinion condition, grip or cage alignment, and signs of abnormal bevel contact.
Inspect teeth, shafts, bushings or bearings, shimming, shell contact, anti-reversal latch, debris, and full-cycle rotation.
Verify sector-to-piston pickup, tappet travel and return, nozzle movement, cutoff or ETU sensing, and DSG-specific timing.
Check the piston, cylinder, cylinder head, nozzle seal, hop interface, spring condition and seating, and release consistency.
Reassemble correctly and use short tests. Record sound, movement, temperature, and consistency before extending the test.
