This 9:1 dual sector gear set is designed for specialist V2 and V3 AEG gearbox builds. It combines an updated dual sector gear with a spur gear and bevel gear, giving experienced builders a clearly specified foundation for a tuned DSG drivetrain.

Updated Dual Sector Gear Design

The updated dual sector gear uses through-holes in place of the previous 5 mm holes, a 15-degree sector-gear chamfer, and a revised tappet-plate pin position. Customized hobbing tools are used to refine the tooth shape and piston-rack engagement.

The sector gear is produced through CNC turning, CNC hobbing, CNC milling, heat treatment, polishing, and blackening. The revised design is intended to support more consistent timing and engagement in a correctly matched DSG build.

Spur Gear Construction

The spur gear is made from 42CrMo/SCM440 steel and finished through CNC turning, CNC hobbing, heat treatment, polishing, and blackening. Published spur-gear hardness is HRC42–47. The blackened surface treatment adds minimal coating thickness so the tooth geometry remains closely controlled.

Bevel Gear Construction

The bevel gear consists of a bevel gear plate and gear shaft produced with MIM and precision-machining processes. Both sides of the bevel gear and the inner bore are machined to improve concentricity. The shaft is produced using CNC turning, gear hobbing, and straight-grain rolling.

Published hardness is HRC42–47 for the bevel gear and HRC48–52 for the shaft. The shaft tooth geometry is designed to balance toughness, engagement, and noise in a properly assembled drivetrain.

Compatibility and Installation

This gear set is intended for experienced technicians and is not a universal drop-in upgrade. Correct results depend on the full gearbox build and installation quality.
