SR25 AEG Gear Sets: What the 19-Tooth Sector Gear Means
SR25 is an AEG platform with a gear-set boundary that should be checked before ordering. The current JVAN SR25 product is a complete set containing one sector gear, one spur gear and one bevel gear. Its sector gear has 19 teeth; a traditional 18:1 sector gear has 16 teeth.
A design difference, not a performance promise
The 19-tooth and 16-tooth counts identify different sector designs. That difference does not by itself prove a gear ratio, piston travel, speed, FPS, torque or compatibility result. Do not replace an SR25 gear by choosing a conventional set that looks similar.
What to check
- Confirm the exact SR25 gearbox version.
- Compare the original sector, spur and bevel gears with the product photos.
- Verify axle supports, gear mesh and shell clearance.
- Check piston engagement and tappet movement through a manual cycle.
Why this is not a “showdown”
A valid brand comparison needs matched specifications and controlled testing. The current source does not provide a complete stock-versus-SHS-versus-JVAN test, so this page focuses on the verifiable SR25 platform difference instead of declaring a winner.
