  2. Inspect for Wear and Tear: A worn-out tappet plate is a primary cause of sudden feeding failures. Compare your plate to a new one; if the engagement fin is rounded, gouged, or shows significant wear, replace it immediately. A fresh tappet plate is often the simplest solution to persistent issues.

  3. Verify Gearbox Shell Compatibility: Not all tappet plates travel freely in all gearbox shells. Internal reinforcement ribs on some shells can obstruct the plate's full range of motion.
